Changing Source Settings

DVD setting options

To see the DVD Settings menu, you must insert a DVD into the disc tray before you select the source.

Three attributes (shown in italic type below) appear in the DVD menu only if you have set

Audio Processing to User Adjustable in the Audio options of the System menu.

		Default Setting;
DVD	Features	Options		Effect of this Setting
	2,3,5 Speakers	5	Determines the number of speakers playing.
		2, 3
	Surround	0	Establishes relative surround sound volume.
		-5 to +5
	Center	0	Establishes relative center speaker volume.
	Channel	-5 to +5
	Movie EQ	On	Adjusts bass-to-treble relationship for proper
		Off	movie soundtrack reproduction.
	Range	On	Adjusts volume to maintain dialogue intelligibil-
	Compression	Off	ity. Keeps some sounds from overwhelming oth-
			ers.
	Mono	On	Engages Videostage® 5 mono decoding circuitry
	Decoding	Off	to process mono programs (one-channel audio)
			into 5-speaker sound.
	Time	0:00	Displays elapsed time.
		_:__	Advances or reverses the film to the new time.
	Title		Advances or reverses the film to another section
		_ of __	of the DVD, according to the number set.
	Chapter		Advances or reverses the film to a new scene,
		___	according to the number set.
	Audio Track	DTS	Plays audio tracks in the format specified.
		Dolby Digital
	Subtitle	English	Determines the language used for DVD subtitles
	Language	Other	(of the languages available on that disc).
	Camera	1 of __	Determines the angle used for a movie scene
	Angle		(of the camera angles available on the disc).
	A B Repeat		Repeats a segment of the DVD after the start
		A, B	and end points are defined. To begin:
			1. Move backward or forward to the point in
				the DVD where you want the segment to
				start.
			2.	Press Enter.
			3. Move to the point where you want it to end.
			4.	Press Enter.
			Repeats until you press the Exit or Settings button.
	Sleep Timer	Off	Sets system to turn off when the selected time
		10-90	elapses.
