Connecting the subwoofer (SKW-L30)
Connect the SUB WOOFER PREOUT jack on the
Center speaker (SKC-L30)
This speaker should be placed as close to the screen as possible facing the listener. The center speaker reproduces a richer sound image by enhancing the perception of the sound's source and movement. When viewing movies, this speaker is used to reproduce dialog.
Front left and right speakers (SKM-L30)
Place these speakers facing the listener so that:
•They are at the same, or nearly the same, height as the center speaker.
•They are positioned facing toward the listening position and the listener’s ears. Ideally, the speakers should be placed symmetrically to the right and left.

Place these speakers to the side or rear of the listener. The surround speakers reproduce

The volume and quality of the bass output from your subwoofer will depend on its position, the shape of your listening room, and your listening position. In general, a good bass sound can be obtained by installing the subwoofer in a front corner, or at

Standard speaker placement and speaker functions
Speaker placement varies depending on the size of the room and the wall coverings used in the room. The following describes a sample layout for standard speaker placement and the functions of the various speakers.
Even if you do not connect the speakers according to the illustration below, you can set the amount of time it takes for sound to be delivered from the various speakers by performing the procedure in “Setting the Distance from the Listening Position to Each speaker” (see page 34) to experience the best possible Surround sound. You can also adjust the volume of each speaker as desired (see page 35). (Do this after you have completed all connections.)

Note
When placing the satellite speakers, do not place them on the edge of a surface, such as a table or rack. If the speaker falls, you may be injured.
