MAINTENANCE

SERVICING THE VALVES:

If your system has been plumbed with the Compool Pro Valve, maintenance is a simple operation which can be Derformed bv either vourself or vour Pool Se~ice~erson .

1. 0bt;in Compool Grease Gun (model GUN-3)from your Pool Equipment Supplier.

2.Ensure that the valve is in the "closed port" position.

3.Inject special Compool Silicone Grease into grease fitting at bottom of valves.

Use approximately eight squeezes on grease gun trigger after grease begins to flow.

For best results, squeeze slowly, and wait a few seconds between squeezes.

4.Wait approximately 15 minutes before attempting to rotate valve.

5.It is advisable to repeat this procedure every four months, or sooner if your pool is exposed to an extraordinarily high amount of sand or dirt.

CAUTION: Use only approved silicone grease.

Petroleum-based lubricants will damage valves.

NOTE: Replacement parts, grease gun, and silicone grease refill car!tridlges are available from your Pool Equipment Supplier or direct from Compool.

If your system has not been plumbed with the Compool Pro Valve, check with the manufacturer'sservice instructions. It may be necessary to remove the Valve Operator and disassemble the valve in order to lubricate the diverter and O-ringseals.

Compool Silicone Grease is also available in a 1 oz. tube for this application.

REPLACING THE BACK-UP BAlTERY:

There is a small 3 volt lithium battery located on the backside of the CP-lo00 Controller.

In the absence of power, this battery will keep the clock running and retain the programming in memory for approximately 48 hours. While power is connected to the system, the battery will not be drained. However, it is not rechargeable.

To replacethe battery:

1.Remove four mounting screws from CP-1000 Controller (2 at each side).

2.Carefully fold Controller out, still connected to cable.

3.Pry-out old battery from battery clip, and replace it with a new one. Pay special attention to the polarity (+ sign).

Replacement battery is available from Compool, or can be purchased at Radio Shack or your local drug store.
