Press POWER y to turn on the Player.
Turn on your TV. Set it to the correct Video In channel. You should see the blue background screen on the TV (if no Disc is in the Player).

16 Quick Disc Playback

There are many playback features and options available on Discs. After

familiarizing yourself with the Player and its remote control as described 3 on pages 17-19, see pages 20 and following to try additional playback fea-

tures.

2 Gently insert a Disc into the Disc Slot so that about one- third of the Disc is in the slot. From that point, the Player

will take the Disc and load it automatically.4 Do not force a Disc into the Disc Slot. If the Player does not

immediately accept the Disc, take away the Disc. Press EJECT c on the front of the Player to make sure there is not another disc in the Player already.

Load Discs with the label facing up and the shiny side facing down. If a Disc is two-sided, make sure the side you want to play is fac- ing up when you put it in the Disc slot.

3 After the Player loads the Disc, playback may begin auto- matically. If not, press PLAY/PAUSE M. Playback will stop at the end of the Title or after the last Track.

If DVD playback does not start automatically, a Disc menu may appear. If the Title or Chapter selections are numbered, press a Number button to select an item. Or, press 98 ;

:to select an item, then press OK.

4 To stop playback at any time, press STOP/RETURN C once. To resume playing the Disc later from the same point, press PLAY/PAUSE M.

If you press STOP/RETURN C twice to stop playing the Disc, play will start at the beginning of the Disc the next time you resume playback.

Helpful Hints

If the Disc is locked by Parental Control, enter your password to watch the Disc. Details are on pages 28-29.

DVDs have a region code. This Player only plays DVDs that are Region 1 (one) or All. Details are on page 7.
