Connect the supplied power adaptor here, then connect the adaptor’s plug to a standard power outlet to supply power to the Player.

COAXIAL (Digital Audio Out) jack

Connect an optional digital audio coaxial cable here and to the Coaxial Digital Audio In jack of a Stereo. Details are on page 13.

OPTICAL (Digital Audio Out) jack

Connect an optional digital audio optical cable here and to the

Optical Digital Audio In jack of a Stereo. Details are on page

13.When the OPTICAL jack is not in use, replace its protec- tive cap.

MULTICHANNEL AUDIO OUT jacks

If you have a Multichannel Receiver (one that has connections for six speakers), connect these jacks to the corresponding In jacks on the Receiver. Details are on page 14.

Or, connect the FL and FR jacks to the left and right Audio In jacks of a TV or Stereo.

FL is Front Left; FR is Front Right; SL is Surround/Rear Left; SR is Surround/Rear Right; and SUBW. represents Subwoofer.

MULTI-5.1 jack

If you have a Philips Multichannel Receiver, it may have a Multichannel 5.1 Audio In jack. If so, connect the Player’s MULTI-5.1 (Out) jack to the appropriate Multichannel 5.1 Audio In jack on the Philips Receiver. Otherwise, you will not use this jack.

Caution

Do not touch the inner pins of the jacks on the rear panel. Electrostatic discharge may damage the unit permanently.
