26 Disc Menu Language

Most DVDs have a Disc menu that appears when you insert the DVD in the Player or when you press DISC MENU on the Player’s remote to access the Disc menu. The Player also refers to this as the ROOT MENU of the DVD.

If the DVD maker recorded the Disc menu in different languages, you may be able to see the menu in the other languages by adjusting DISC MENU in the Player’s PREFERENCES menu as described below.

1 Press STOP/RETURN L twice to stop playback completely.

2 Press SYSTEM MENU.

3 Press 9 to select PREFERENCES, then press OK. You can select PREFERENCES only if you completely stopped playback as directed in step 1.

5 Press 8 or 9 to choose ENGLISH, FRENCH, SPANISH, CHINESE, or JAPANESE, then press OK. The Disc menu will appear in the language you selected only if that language is recorded on the DVD. Some DVDs will allow you to change the Disc menu language only in the Disc menu. Check your DVD or its case for details.
