26 Appendix A - Installation in expert Mode

Expert mode installation offers the ability to set the telephone prefix and application type, and includes a more detailed system test dialog.

To access the expert installation menu:

1.Simultaneously press OK and MENU on the satellite receiver front panel.The first time the system is brought up, you can also access this menu from the Welcome screen.

Telephone Prefix

Some telephones require that you dial a prefix to reach an outside line.This function lets you set the prefix.

To define the telephone prefix:

1.Press MENU and OK on the satellite receiver front panel.

2.Choose Installation/Telephone Prefix.

3.Use the 1 or 2 buttons to move between None and Prefix.

4.To set the prefix, press the up or down arrow buttons until the correct prefix number is displayed.

5.Press BACK to return to the Installation menu.

Application Type

Your satellite receiver can run special applications.

To run a special application:

1.Press MENU and OK on the satellite receiver front panel.

2.Choose Installation/Application Type.

3.Press the up or down arrow buttons to choose either Normal or Special.

4.Press BACK to return to the Installation menu.

System Test

To types of system test are available: standard and expert.The expert test offers these additional functions: Macrovision State, Colorburst State if Macrovision Enabled, Memory Status, SRAM Status, Hardware Modification Version, Demodulator Status, Market ID, Hexadecimal diagnostic information.

To view the system test:

1.Press MENU and OK on the satellite receiver front panel.

2.Choose Installation/System Test.

3.Press the up or down arrow buttons to scroll through the list of tests or the PAGE+/- buttons to scroll by a full page.

4.Press BACK to return to the Installation menu.
