11.0 Securing the Child Restraint in Your Vehicle

FAILURE TO PROPERLY SECURE THE CHILD RESTRAINT IN THE VEHICLE INCREASES THE CHILD’S RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IN THE EVENT OF A SHARP

TURN, SUDDEN STOP OR CRASH. Carefully follow these instructions and those in your vehicle owner’s manual to be sure your child restraint is properly positioned and held tightly at all times.

11.1Using a Child Restraint WITH a Built-in Harness

11.2With a Vehicle Lap or Lap/shoulder Belt:

Lower anchors must be stored when using vehicle belt.

See Section 19.1, Storing LATCH, page 60.

1. Place the child restraint firmly against the back of a forward-facing vehicle seat.

2. Thread the seat belt through the belt slot openings: For Lap/Shoulder belt

For Lap-only belt

3. Buckle the vehicle belt. The vehicle belt should not be

twisted.36
