APPENDIX I: WORKING WITH PTZ DEVICES USING THE KBD300A KEYBOARD

You can use the Pelco KBD300A keyboard to operate and configure PTZ devices. For information about connecting and operating the KBD300A, refer to the KBD300USBKIT Installation manual.

Keyboard Function

Corresponding DX4700/DX4800 Function

 

 

Joystick

Pan/Tilt/Zoom:

 

KBD300A SHIFT LED Off:

 

Controls the camera’s PTZ operation.

 

Twist the joystick clockwise to zoom in, counterclockwise to zoom out.

 

Move the joystick to stop a pattern.

 

Moves the cursor in the on-screen camera menu.

 

KBD300A SHIFT LED On: Selects a camera pane.

 

On-screen camera menu:

 

Menu tree: Moves the cursor up and down through the on-screen camera menu.

 

Parameter selection: Navigate through the parameter choices.

 

 

Lens Control

KBD300A SHIFT LED Off:

 

• Viewing video in a camera pane:

 

Near/Far: Press and hold to focus.

 

Open/Close: Press and hold to lighten or darken video view. On-screen camera menu:

 

Near/Far: Navigates up and down through the camera menu.

 

Open/Close: Open selects a menu item; Close moves the cursor to the Exit command.

 

 

Number + CAM

KBD300A SHIFT LED On: Assigns the selected camera to the first view pane. The remaining view panes are

 

positioned in numerical order. For example, if channel 06 is the first view pane, channel 07 is displayed in the

 

second view pane, and so forth.

 

 

Number + PRESET (short)

KBD300A SHIFT LED Off: Moves the camera to the configured preset position. For information about the

 

number of presets supported by a given camera, refer to the camera documentation.

 

 

Number + PRESET (long)

KBD300A SHIFT LED Off:

 

• Configures the current camera position to the associated preset number.

 

• Preset 95 displays the camera menu.

 

 

Number + PATTERN (short)

KBD300A SHIFT LED Off: Runs selected patterns. The DX4700/DX4800 supports up to four unique PTZ

 

patterns. For information about the number of patterns supported by a given camera, refer to the camera

 

documentation.

 

 

Number + PATTERN (long)

KBD300A SHIFT LED Off: Starts the pattern recording mode.

 

 

ACK

KBD300A SHIFT LED Off: Stops the pattern recording mode.

 

 

Number + AUX ON/AUX OFF

KBD300A SHIFT LED Off: Turns the specified auxiliary output on/off.

 

 

F2, F3, ON, OFF

KBD300A SHIFT LED On: Selects the division in which channels are displayed in the application window.

 

F2/OFF: Single-division

 

F3/MOM: 4-division

 

AUX ON: 9-division

 

AUX OFF: 16-division
