Configuring the Camera’s Wireless Settings
aConfiguring a Network Profile
Enable connection of the camera to the Internet via a wireless LAN access point. Follow the procedures indicated below to apply the same network settings used by the wireless LAN network to the camera. See “Configuring a Network Profile from the Camera” (A 29) for more information.
1Choose Network profile from the Wireless settings option in the camera’s setup menu.
2Choose Configure manually.
3Choose the desired SSID (network name) or enter a new SSID.
4Choose the desired network type.
Home wireless LAN | Public wireless LAN* |
5Choose the desired authentication method.
6Enter the encryption key.
7Specify the camera’s IP address.
8Enter the user name and password.
* See “Public Wireless LAN” (Aiv) for more information on countries in which public wireless LANs can be accessed by, and the wireless service providers that support connection of, this camera.
If your wireless LAN access point supports WPS, configuring the network profile for a home wireless LAN access point is simple (A 39).
BComplimentary Wayport Subscription (the United States only)
If using complimentary Wayport subscription, a network profile has already been configured with the camera. Be sure to proceed to “bEntering my Picturetown User Information” (A33) to set up the camera’s wireless settings.

Network profiles for wireless LANs can be configured (A29) after pictures and recipients have been selected under the following circumstances:
•The public wireless LAN access point does not utilize the IEEE 802.1X standard.
•Home wireless LAN access points are configured as follows:
-The access point’s SSID is set to “any” (to allow connection of any wireless device).
-MAC address filtering is not enabled.
-Data is encrypted using WEP encryption, or data encryption is not enabled.
-IP addresses are acquired automatically (DHCP).
