The Histogram display shows the distribution of tones in the image: the horizontal axis ranges from black (left) to white (right), while the vertical axis shows the number of pixels of each brightness in the image. A properly exposed image will extend close to the ends of the histogram and should not have a large value at the extremes of the tone range.
