SOUND FIELD PARAMETER DESCRIPTIONS

DIALG.LIFT (Dialog lift)

Function:

Adjusts the height of the front and center channel sounds by assigning some of the front and center

 

channel elements to the presence speakers.

Description:

The larger the parameter, the higher the position of the front and center channel sound.

Choices:

0/1/2/3/4/5, initial setting is 0.

For 2ch Stereo:

DIRECT (Direct)

Function:

Bypasses this unit’s decoders and DSP processors for pure high fidelity sound when playing 2-channel

 

analog sources. The AUTO setting is effective only when BASS and TREBLE are set to 0 dB.

Choices:

AUTO, OFF

Notes

When multi-channel signals (Dolby Digital and DTS) are input, they are downmixed to 2 channels and output from the front left and right speakers.

When “BASS OUT” is set to BOTH, or “FRONT SP” set to SMALL and “BASS OUT” set to SWFR, front left and right speaker low- frequency signals are redirected to the subwoofer.

For 7ch Stereo:

Function:

These parameters adjust the volume level for each channel in 7-channel stereo mode.

0 – 100%

SL LEVEL (Surround left level)

SR LEVEL (Surround right level)

SB LEVEL (Surround back level)

PL LEVEL (Presence left level)

PANORAMA (Panorama)

Function:

Sends stereo signals to the surround speakers as well as the front speakers for a wraparound effect.

Choices:

OFF, ON

DIMENSION (Dimension)

Function:

Gradually adjusts the sound field either towards the front or towards the rear.

Control range:

–3 (towards the rear) to +3 (towards the front), initial setting is STD (standard).

CENTER WIDTH (Center width)

Function:

Adjusts the center image from all three front speakers to varying degrees. A larger value adjusts the

 

center image towards the front left and right speakers.

Control range:

0 (center channel sound is output only from center speaker) to 7 (center channel sound is output only

 

from front left and right speakers)
