Using this unit’s internal amplifier

To use this unit’s internal amplifier, set “ZONE2 AMP” to INT in the SET MENU (see pages 64).

The supplied remote control can be used to control Zone

2.You can even select the input source and control components located in the main room directly from the second room regardless of the listening condition in the main room.

You can also turn on/off the main or Zone 2 mode by pressing MAIN or ZONE 2 on the front panel.

To enable Zone 2 mode on the remote control

1Press .

2Press CODE SET using a ballpoint pen or similar object.

The TRANSMIT indicator on the remote control flashes twice.

To control Zone 2

1Press to set the remote control to Zone 2.

The TRANSMIT indicator on the remote control lights up while the remote control is in Zone 2 mode.

2Press SYSTEM POWER to turn Zone 2 power on.

3Press an input selector button to select the input source you want to listen to in the second room.

4You can control Zone 2 using the input selector buttons, STANDBY, SYSTEM POWER, MUTE and VOLUME +/–.

3Enter the code number “2999”.

Immediately after you have configured the remote control for Zone 2, the remote will enter main mode. When the remote is in main mode, you can turn the main unit on, or set it in standby mode independently of Zone 2 by pressing SYSTEM POWER or

STANDBY.

Notes

If you enable Zone 2, the Zone function is applied to the current remote control ID (ID1: default code, ID2: alternative code). However, because the remote control codes for Zone 2 are common to ID1 and ID2, the remote control ID does not change even if it is switched.

To release Zone 2, clear the remote control code set for , or

set a remote control code other than a TV code for .

If “ZONE2 AMP” in OPTION MENU is set to INT, you can use VOLUME –/+ to adjust sound output from speakers connected to the PRESENCE/ZONE 2 speaker terminals. However, VOLUME –/+ cannot be used to adjust sound output from the ZONE2 OUTPUT jacks.
