Using the Stand
Pull out the stand and lock it into position when you put the camcorder on a table or other flat surface.
Cautions:
•Protect the stand from strong forces. Otherwise it may break.
•To retract the stand, press it in the direction of the arrow.

Still
This function makes it possible to freeze the
picture. During playback, press on the button to select “STILL” on the screen (VCR mode). To return to normal playback, press on the button to select “STILL” once again.

Placing
To stabilize the camcorder, make sure the camera module stands vertically.
Video Search
This function makes it easy for you to search for a scene near the current tape position.
1 During playback, press B on the operation button ( ) to select “FF” (Q) (or C to select “REW” (W)) on the screen (VCR mode).

Notes:
•The sound is off during these searches.
•Some picture noise appears during these searches. This is not a malfunction.
•Still image playback can also be operated with the remote control. (See page 39.)
Slow
This function makes it possible to play back in slow motion. During playback, press the SLOW button (E) on the remote control. To return to normal playback, press PLAY button on the remote control to select “PLAY”.

Notes:
•The sound is off during Still and Slow modes.
•To protect the tape, the camcorder automatically returns to ordinary playback mode if it is left in Still mode for more than 5 minutes or in Slow mode for more than about 40 seconds.
•If still or slow functions are used when connected to a TV, noise will appear and distort the image.
•Slow function cannot be operated from the camcorder.
