Strobe Recording

You can record strobe images (still pictures that capture continuous motion at 1/5 sec. intervals) of subjects with normal sound. You will find it useful when you want to produce a special effect while recording moving subjects such as your friends waving at you.

1 Press on the operation button ( ) to select “STROBE” on the screen (Camera mode) while the camcorder is in Recording Standby mode.

Each time you press the button, the recording mode changes as shown below.

2 Press the REC START/STOP button.

3 To return to normal recording, press on the button to select “STROBE” again.

Notes:

Once the Strobe Recording mode is set, the camcorder will remain in that mode until it is canceled, even when switching between Recording mode and Recording Standby mode.

The picture quality in this mode will be slightly lower than normal pictures.

Stopwatch

The stopwatch feature is useful for measuring times in athletic races and other time competi- tions. You can measure down to 1/100 second. The function is available for both Camera and VCR modes.

Using the Stopwatch Function

1 During playback (or recording), press the MENU button until (VCR mode) or (Camera mode) appears on the monitor.

2 Press on the operation button ( ) to select “STOP WATCH”.

3 Press on the button to select “START”.

The “START” indicator changes to “STOP”, and the stopwatch begins to show elapsed time.

4 Press on the button to select “STOP”.

The stopwatch display now shows the total elapsed time.

To Reset the Stopwatch

Press B on the button to select “RESET”.

Notes:

While the stopwatch is running, the elapsed time is displayed down to 1/10 second.

After completing step 4, if you press A on the

button to select “PREV. PAGE”, the monitor display will return to step 1.

When using the stopwatch during recording, the stopwatch display is not recorded.
