Internet Camera Features

Q:What is an Internet Camera?

A:An Internet Camera is a stand-alone system connecting directly to an Ethernet or Fast Ethernet network and supported by the wireless transmission based on the IEEE 802.11b/g/n standard. It is different from the conventional PC camera, the camera is based on an all-in-one system with built-in CPU and web-based solutions providing a low cost solution that can transmit high quality video images for monitoring. The Camera can be managed remotely, accessed and controlled from any PC/Notebook over the Intranet or Internet via a web browser.

Q:What is the maximum number of users that are allowed to access the Camera simultaneously?

A:The maximum number of users that can log onto the Camera at the same time is 20. Please keep in mind the overall performance of the transmission speed will slow down when many users are logged on at the same time.

Q:What algortihm is used to compress the digital image?

A:The Camera utilizes JPEG image compression technology, providing a high quality image for users. JPEG has been adopted as it is a standard for image compression and can be applied to a variety of web browsers and software applications, avoiding the need to install additonal application software.

Q:Can I change the wireless antenna attached to the Camera?

A:The wireless antenna can be changed for a variety of reasons, such as extending the wireless transmission range. However, please consult and authorized distributor before attempting this as the connectors must use an SMA connector type.

Q:What is the wireless transmission range for the Camera?

A:Generally the wireless signal can reach up to 100 meters indoors and up to 300 meters outdoors. The range is limited by the number of walls, ceilings or other objects that the wireless signals must pass throigh. Typical ranges vary depending on the types of materials and background Radio Frequency (RF) noise in your home or business and the configuation setting of your network environment.
