Variable-speed searches

You can change the playback speed and search for specific locations.

1 Press [PLAY] during playback.

1X is displayed.

2 Press [PAGE/AUDIO MON/VAR], and change the playback speed.

X /X or X /X is displayed.

Each time the button is pressed, the playback speed changes by one setting in the following sequence: 1/5x, 1x, 2x, 4x, 12x and 24x. No sound will be played back at the 12x or 24x speed.

Use the “+” to change the speed in the forward direction, and the “-” to change it in the reverse direction.

To return to normal playback, press the [PLAY].

Repeat playback

The selected clip is played repeatedly.

2 Press [MODE] to display the thumbnail display off screen.

3 Press [MENU].

4 Using [STOP], [PLAY] and [STILL],select

“PLAYBACK FUNCTION” – “REPEAT PLAY”

– “ON”, and press [STILL].

5 Press [MENU] twice.

The repeat playback icon is displayed on the thumbnail display off screen.

Rapid forward/rapid reverse playback

1 During playback, press [FF] or [REW]. The clip is played back rapidly at 4x normal speed in the forward or reverse direction. When the button is held down, the speed increases (to 32x normal speed).

Alternatively, is displayed.

To return to normal playback, press the [PLAY].

Frame feed playback

1 Press [STILL] during playback to establish the pause mode.

2 Press [PAGE/AUDIO MON/VAR].

The clips are fed frame by frame in the forward direction using “+” and in the reverse direction using “-”.

Alternatively, is displayed.

When the button is held down, frame feeding is continued.

To return to normal playback, press [PLAY].

6 Press [MODE] to display the thumbnail display screen.

7 Using [FF] or [REW], move the yellow frame (cursor) to the repeat playback clip, and press [STILL].

8 Press [MENU].

9 Using [STOP], [PLAY] and [STILL], select “THUMBNAIL” – “SELECTED CLIPS”, and press [STILL].

10 Press [PLAY].

The selected clip is now played back repeatedly.

If a clip has not been selected, all the currently displayed clips which can be played back will be played back repeatedly.

To turn off the repeat playback setting, select “OFF” in step 4.
