Using the wake up timer

You can use the timer as an alarm clock to wake up to the sound of a disc loaded or the radio. If you have an external component operated by a separate timer, you can also set it as the source function.

Once the timer is active, it will switch the system on everyday at the set time.

Unlike an ordinary alarm clock, you need to set a system switch off time, as well as a switch on time.

1Select the source that you’d like to wake up to.

For a disc, press DVD/CD; for the radio press TUNER/ BAND; for an external component, press TV/AUX.

2Load a disc or tune to a radio station, then set the volume.

If you selected an external component, make the appropriate timer settings for it.

3 Press SYSTEM SETUP.

4Press 2 or 3 until you see TIMER in the display.

5 Press ENTER.

6Press 2 or 3 until you see WAKE UP SET in the display.

7Press ENTER.

The display shows a switch on time with the hour blinking.

8Set the switch on time.

Use 5 and to set the hour then press ENTER. Set the minute in the same way, pressing ENTER to finish.

• If you make a mistake, press SYSTEM SETUP and start again from step 3.

9Set the switch off time.

Set in the same way as the switch on time, pressing ENTER to finish.

• If you make a mistake, press SYSTEM SETUP and start again from step 3.

10Check the settings you just made.

The display should indicate that you have set the wake up timer, then show the on time, the off time, the function (DVD, etc.), and the volume. The display shows CHECK END after all the settings.

• There is no direct way to edit the timer settings. If you see that some timer setting is not what you’d intended, you’ll need to start the process again from the top.

11Switch the system into standby.

The timer will not work if the system is left on!

The timer indicator ( ) lights when the timer is on.

Activating/deactivating the wake up timer

To activate the wake up timer, set the timer to ON. To deactivate it, set the timer to OFF.

1 Press SYSTEM SETUP.

2Press 2 or 3 until you see TIMER in the display.

3 Press ENTER.

4Press the 2 or 3 button until you see

TIMER ON or TIMER OFF in the display.

5 Press ENTER.

The timer indicator ( ) lights when the timer is on.
