Advanced Features

To show Radio Data System signals on display

Select an FM station with Radio Data System signals.

1Press the TUNER (BAND) button to select the FM.

2Press the RDS DISPLAY button on the remote control. The display will switch as follows:

PS PTY RT

Station Frequency

PS (Programme Service):

Whilst searching, "PS" alternately appear on the display.

Then, the station name appears. "NO PS" appears if no signal is sent.

PT (Programme Type):

Whilst searching, "PTY" alternately appear on the display.

Then, the broadcast programme type appears. "NO PTY" appears if no signal is sent.

RT (Radio Text):

Whilst searching, "RT" alternately appear on the display.

Then, the next message sent by the station appears. "NO RT" appears if no signal is sent.

Station Frequency:

The frequency of the selected station appears on the display.

To recall stations in memory

To specify programmed types and select stations (PTY search): You can search a station by specifying the programme type (news, sports, traffic programme, etc. ... see pages 33 - 34) from the stations in memory.

1Press the TUNER (BAND) button to select the FM.

2Press the RDS (ASPM/PTY) button on the remote control.

"SEL PTY" (blinking) will appear for about 6 seconds.

3Within 6 seconds, press the PRESET ( or ) button to se- lect the PTY code.

Each time the button is pressed, the PTY code will appear. If the button is held down for more than 0.5 seconds, the PTY code will appear continuously.

4Whilst the selected PTY code is displayed (within 6 sec- onds), press the RDS (ASPM/PTY) button again.

The unit searches the 20 preset stations and stops when it finds a station of the selected category then tunes into the station. The RDS indicator lights up.

If no programme is found in the 20 preset stations, "NO PTY" appear on the display and returns to the previous station.
