Networking Other Appliances

If you live in a house wired with a digital line, you can arrange with your phone company to have an analog line brought into your home. In addi- tion, many digital phone manufacturers offer inexpensive adapters that plug into the digital phone line and convert it to an analog line. These adapters usually work best at lower modem speeds.

Coffee Maker, Bread Maker, and Microwave Oven

If you purchase and install any one of the other appliances in the Beyond Connected line, you can network those products together with your iCE- BOX, and take advantage of the appliance’s smart features. For example, by networking your Bread Maker in with your iCEBOX, new bread mix recipes will automatically download to your Bread Maker memory through the internet connected iCEBOX.

To network with any of the appliances, the iCEBOX FlipScreen and the appliance must each have a SANI Cartridge installed. The SANI Cartidges are wireless transmitting and receiving devices that operate in the same frequency rage as a typical cordless telephone.

SANI connectivity is one of the features that make your Beyond Appli- ances so special.

The SANI Cartridges can be purchased wherever you purchase your Beyond Appliances.

FIGURE 6. SANI Card

To install the SANI Cartridge

1.Ensure that the power switch on the iCEBOX back panel is in the off position (“O” is depressed).

2.Remove the plastic cap from the SANI Card Slot.

3.Insert the SANI Card gently into the SANI Card Slot. The label on the SANI Card should face up, and the connector must seat firmly in the card socket.

4.Turn the power switch on.

5.The iCEBOX is now ready for you to bind your Connected Appliances.
