EQUALIZER

Switching the equalizer on/off

To switch the equalizer on/off,

press and hold down the AUDIO button : for longer than two sec- onds.

The equalizer menu appears in the dis- play.

To activate the equalizer,

press the softkey 5assigned to the ÒUSERÓ or ÒPRESETÓ display item and select an equalizer.

To deactivate the equalizer,

press the softkey 5assigned to the ÒOFFÓ display item.

Automatically calibrating the equalizer

You can electronically calibrate and store values for three different situa- tions.

EQ 1

for the driver only

EQ 2

for the driver and front passen-

 

ger

EQ 3

for the front and rear occupants

Hold the calibration microphone in the appropriate position whilst calibration is taking place.

The position of the calibration micro- phone for situation 1 (e.g. for the driv- er alone) is at the height of the driverÕs head.

For situation 2, the calibration micro- phone should be positioned between the driver and the front passenger.

For Situation 3, it should be placed at the centre of the vehicle interior (left/ right, front/back).

Really quiet surroundings are required for the calibration. Any extraneous noise will distort the measured values.

Note:

During calibration, the tempera- ture inside the vehicle must not exceed 55 °C since this could lead to falsified measurements.

The sound radiating from the loud- speakers must not be obstructed by any objects. All the loudspeakers must be connected. The microphone must be connected to the device.

To calibrate an equalizer,

press and hold down the AUDIO button :for longer than two sec- onds.

Press the softkey 5assigned to the ÒUSER EQÓ display item.

Press the softkey 5assigned to the display item of the equalizer (ÒEQ-1Ó, ÒEQ-2Ó or ÒEQ-3Ó) that you want to set up.

Press the softkey 5assigned to the ÒADJUSTÓ display item.

Press the softkey 5assigned to the ÒAUTOÓ display item.

A countdown is shown in the display. Afterwards you will hear a test sound and calibration begins.

Note:

Follow the instructions shown in the display during calibration!

Proceed as described for all the equalizers.
