Operating DVDs and video CDs using the front panel

1Rear DVD Button (page 34)

Change the setting of the rear DVD function. Press and hold for at least 2 seconds to switch the remote control sensor.

2 Button (pages 30, 31) Pause/Playback

3 DN Button (pages 30)

Move to the desired position on the disc.

During playback, press and hold for more than 1 second to reverse the disc at double speed. Hold for more than 5 seconds to reverse the disc at 8 times the normal speed.

4 UP Button (pages 30, 31)

Move to the desired position on the disc.

During playback, press and hold for more than 1 second to forward the disc at double speed. Hold for more than 5 seconds to forward the disc at 8 times the normal speed.

When pressed and held in while in the pause mode, the disc is played in slow motion at 1/8th the normal speed. When held in for 5 more seconds, the slow motion speed switches to 1/2 the normal speed.

The picture is forwarded by one frame each time the button is pressed in the pause mode.

5F Button

The DVD/video CD indicator upper level/lower level mode operation switches each time the button is pressed.

wDVD/Video CD Indicator

The DVD or Video CD playback Indicator lights. Indicator upper row

The same operation as the upper level indicator operation (remote control unit and joystick, ENTER and RETURN) can be performed by pressing “F” button once while playing a DVD then pressing “1” to “6” button. When playing a video CD, however (when PBC is turned on), only the RETURN operation is possible.

Indicator lower row

The lower level indicator operation can be performed by pressing “1” to “6” button while playing a DVD/video CD. When playing a video CD, however, only the AUDIO, MENU (for Video CDs with PBC functions) and REPEAT (only when PBC is turned off) operations are possible.

NOTE

You may not be able to operate according to the disc.
