Call barring | Enables you to restrict or bar certain or all types of calls to and from |
| your mobile phone, i.e. outgoing calls, outgoing international calls, |
| incoming calls. Barring is activated with a personal code. To use this |
| service, it must be supported by your network and by your phone. |
| You may also have to add this service to your subscription. |
Call forwarding | This feature allows you to program a number to which all incoming |
| calls will be automatically rerouted. |
Call restriction | Enables you to restrict or bar certain or all types of calls to and from |

Call transfer | Enables you to transfer a caller to another number. To use this |

Cell broadcast | Used now in GSM particularly, this paging service allows an operator |
| to spread short information messages to all or dedicated subscriber |
| surrounding a cell or a region. |
GPRS | Generalised Packet Radio Service - GSM network structure and |
| methods development in terms of data connectivity with a high speed |
| rate and dynamic allocation. |
GSM | Global System for Mobile communications - Digital wireless |
| telecommunications standard widely used throughout the world and |
| used by your phone. GSM 900 uses 900 MHz frequency band, |
| whereas GSM 1800 uses 1800 MHz frequency band (see “Other |
| operator services” page 75). |
Home Zone | A particular area within your home network. If this feature is |
| provided by your home network, the home zone symbol is displayed |
| indicated that you are currently within the home zone. |
Local network | The network where you are making a call. This may be your home |
| network or another GSM network. |
