5 Change the incline of the treadmill as desired.
To change the incline of
the treadmill, press the Incline increase and de- crease buttons. Each time a button is pressed,
the incline will change by
0.5%. Note: After the buttons are pressed, it may take a moment for the treadmill to reach the se- lected incline setting.
Follow your progress with the matrix and the
6 displays.
The matrix—When the
manual mode or the iFIT.com mode is se- lected, the matrix will show a track that repre- sents 1/4 mile. As you
exercise, the indicators
around the track will light in succession until the entire track is lit. The track will then darken and the indicators will again begin to light in succes- sion.
The Incline display— This display will show the incline level of the tread- mill.
The Time
goals were set, this dis- play will show the elapsed time. If a goal was set, the display will
show the time remaining
in your workout. Note: When a program is se- lected, the display will show the time remaining in the program and the time remaining in the current segment of the program.
The Distance display— If no goals were set, this
display will show the dis- tance that you have walked or run. If a goal
was set, the display will
show the distance still to be walked or run during your workout. Note: When a program is selected, the display will show the distance still to be walked or run during the program.
The Calories
will show the number of calories still to be burned during your workout. Note: When a program is se- lected, the display will show the number of calories still to be burned during the program.
The Pulse/Pace
your average pace. The display will alternate be-
tween one value and the other every few seconds. The display will also show your heart rate when you use the handgrip pulse sensor (see step 7 on page 13) or the optional chest pulse sensor. When a heart rate program is selected, the dis- play will also show your heart rate as a percent- age of your estimated maximum heart rate.
The Speed display— This display will show the speed of the walking belt.
Note: The console can
display speed and dis- tance in either miles or kilometers. To determine which unit of measure-
ment is selected, hold
down the Stop button while inserting the key into the console. An “E” for English miles or an “M” for metric kilometers will appear in the Speed display. Press the Speed increase button to change the unit of measurement. When the desired unit of measurement is selected, remove the key and then reinsert it.
To reset the displays, press the Stop button, re- move the key, and then reinsert the key.
If a workout goal was set, the walking belt will au- tomatically slow to a stop when the goal is reached. If two workout goals were set, the walk- ing belt will stop when both goals are reached.
