1 Safety instructions
Your safety is of paramount importance, please ensure you read these warnings before installing or using the appliance. If you are unsure about any of the meanings of these warnings, contact the Customer Care Department.
General safety
•Repairs to the washing machine should only be carried out by qualified personnel. Repairs carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injury or serious malfunctioning. Contact your local AEG Service Force Center.
•Never operate the washing machine if the mains cable is damaged or the control panel, work top or base area are damaged allowing internal components to be accessible.
•Switch off the appliance and isolate from the mains supply before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance work!
•Do not use the mains cable to pull the plug out of the socket.
•Do not spray the washing machine with water.
•During high temperature wash programs, the glass of the door may become hot. Do not touch!
•Allow the water to cool down before cleaning the drain pump or carrying out emergency emptying.
•Small animals can nibble at mains cables and water hoses causing electric shock hazard.
Installation
•Please follow the separate “Installation and connection instructions“ supplied with the appliance.
•Installation must comply with local water authority and building regulations requirements.
•Before using the appliance for the first time, we recommend you run a cotton wash cycle at 95 °C without any laundry and half the recommended amount of detergent. This is to remove any residues from the drum, which may have been left during manufacture.
