This unit has the input terminals for 5.1ch surround systems but it does not have the decoders necessary to play them back. The DVD player should have these decoders and 5.1ch output.

The included front speakers have superwoofers, but you can en- hance surround sound from a unit connected to DVD 6ch INPUT by connecting another subwoofer to SUBWOOFER terminal.
