To activate your favorite Announcement types for Announcement Standby Reception

When shipped from the factory, all Announcement Standby Receptions are deactivated.

1Press and hold SEL (select) for more than 2 seconds so that “PSM” appears on the display.

2Press ¢ or 4 to select “Announce,” if not shown on the display.

3Rotate the control dial until the Announcement type you want to use appears.

The current setting (Y: Yes – activated, N: No – deactivated) for the selected Announcement type also appears.

You can use the following Announcement types as the sources for Announcement Standby Reception — Transport, Warning/Serv (service), News Flash, Weather Flash, Event, Special Event, Radio Info (information), Sports News, and Financial News.

4Press 5or °to activate or deactivate the Announcement Standby Reception of the selected type.

Select “Y” to activate the type selected in above step.

Select “N” to deactivate the type selected in above step.

5Repeat step 3 and 4 to set the other types of Announcement Standby Reception.

6Press SEL (select) again to finish the setting.

Notes:

When a DAB service broadcasts an Alarm signal (one type of Announcement signals to be used for emergency cases), the unit automatically tunes into that service. The interruption triggered by Alarm signal cannot be deactivated because of its importance. Furthermore, it also forces the unit to break any other source.

The Road Traffic Flash, another high priority type of Announcement signal is incorporated with the TP function as described on page 42.
