8. About system exclusive messages
Manufacturers are free to use system exclusive messages in any way they choose, and these messages are used mainly to trans- mit and receive parameters that are specific to particular de- vices, such as sound data and editing data.

9. Transmitting sound settings

Song, Pattern, and Global data can be transmitted as MIDI ex- clusive data, and stored on an external device. This data is trans- mitted and received on the MIDI channel selected in Global mode. Data dumps will be transmitted when a Data Dump Re- quest of the corresponding type is received.
10. Editing sounds etc.
By sending MIDI exclusive data dumps, you can rewrite all patterns or individual programs. By using NRPN messages in Pattern mode, you can edit the knobs that are active for each part.
