„Setting Program Change Preferences

This section explains how to set the EWI4000s to access your program changes in various ways.

1.Press and hold the SETUP BUTTON.

2.Press the HOLD BUTTON or OCTAVE BUTTON to scroll through the options until “PC” (Program Change) is shown in the PROGRAM DATA / DISPLAY.

3.Release the SETUP BUTTON. The PROGRAM / DATA DISPLAY will display the current mode. Use the HOLD BUTTON or OCTAVE BUTTON to select any of the following options:

a.dP” (Direct Program Change): This setting will let you assign program changes to the notes of only one octave. That is, you can have a total of 12 program changes available to you on the 12 NOTE KEYS, regardless of the octave in which you are playing.

b.AL” (All): This setting will let you assign program changes to every note playable. That is, you can have a total of 96 program changes available to you on the 12 NOTE KEYS, with each NOTE KEY having a different program change assignment in each octave (8 total octaves).

c.Et” (MIDI Program Change): This setting will enable the sending of MIDI Program Change messages. (See “Program Change” under the ABOUT MIDI section in Chapter 4.)

4.Press the SETUP BUTTON. The EWI4000s will return to Play Mode.

„Recalling the Program Number Assigned to a Note Key

This explains how to recall a Program number that is assigned to a NOTE KEY.

1.While touching the PROGRAM KEY, touch the NOTE KEY you wish to recall. The PROGRAM / DATA DISPLAY will show the Program number currently assigned to that NOTE KEY.

2.Blow into the MOUTHPIECE. The Program number will be changed.

Note: While touching the PROGRAM KEY, no sound will when blowing into the Mouthpiece.
