OCTAVE BUTTON FUNCTIONS

By assigning the Octave function to the OCTAVE BUTTON and pressing it, you will add a note one octave lower the one you are currently playing.

„Assigning Functions to the Octave Button

1.Press and hold the SETUP BUTTON.

2.Press the HOLD BUTTON or OCTAVE BUTTON to scroll through the options until “Oc” is shown in the PROGRAM DATA / DISPLAY.

3.Release the SETUP BUTTON. The PROGRAM / DATA DISPLAY will display the

current mode. Use the HOLD BUTTON or OCTAVE BUTTON to select any of the following options:

a.OF” (Off): The OCTAVE BUTTON will have no affect if you press it while you are playing.

b.oc” (Octave): Pressing the OCTAVE BUTTON will play a second note an octave below the note you are playing.

c.In” (Interval): Pressing the OCTAVE BUTTON will play a second note at the specified interval from the note you are currently playing. To assign this note (1) play a note and hold it, (2) press the OCTAVE BUTTON, and (3) play another note. The interval between the two notes will be the interval used for the second voice when you press the OCTAVE BUTTON.

d.dn” (Down): The OCTAVE BUTTON will function as a “Preset Down” button.

e.CC” (Continuous Controller): The OCTAVE BUTTON will transmit MIDI Continuous Controller

(CC)data. You can set the CC number, the value it will transmit, and whether the OCTAVE BUTTON will function as a toggle or momentary button. (See the “Setting the OCTAVE BUTTON’s Continuous Controller Preferences” section.)

4.Press the SETUP BUTTON. The EWI4000s will return to Play Mode.

5.Press the OCTAVE BUTTON. The assigned function is on when the OCTAVE LED is lit. Press the OCTAVE BUTTON again. The assigned function is off when the OCTAVE LED is unlit.
