NOTE: The control unit power should be off at this point. However, if the power is on and the other end of this modular voice terminal cord is already plugged into the control unit, a red light may go on next to a button when you plug the cord into the line jack on the voice terminal, and the voice terminal may ring. Don’t be alarmed. The red light should go on if the control unit power is on; go to the next step.

5Find the Test/Program (T/P) switch on the left side of the voice terminal and set it to the center position. If the switch is set to T or P, the voice terminal rings as soon as you connect it to a system that is turned on.

Turn the power off at the control unit until you are ready to test the voice terminals.

6Find the volume control for the ringing tone, also on the left side of the voice terminal, and slide it to the center position. See Figure 18.
