After you set up the PowerEdge Cluster FE100 hardware, you must properly cable the system for clustering. Chapter 2, “Cabling the Cluster Hardware,” of this guide pro- vides instructions for cabling the cluster components.

If you added new hard-disk drives to your PowerEdge system or are setting up the internal drives in a hardware RAID configuration, you must configure the PowerEdge Expandable RAID Controller, if applicable, and partition and format the drives before you can install Windows NT Server, Enterprise Edition. For instructions on partitioning and formatting SCSI hard-disk drives, refer to your PowerEdge system’s User’s Guide. For instructions on setting up a RAID, refer to the Dell PowerEdge Expandable RAID Controller User’s Guide.
NOTE: If you are not using a hardware-based RAID solution, you can configure a soft- ware-based RAID after installing Windows NT. See “Using the ftdisk Driver” in Chapter 3 for more information.
