To ensure that the PowerEdge Cluster FE100 functions properly, perform a series of checks of the system’s operation and configuration. Perform these checks to verify that the cluster meets the following conditions:

All nodes and clients are able to log on to the same domain.

The shared disks are assigned identical drive letters in both nodes.

All IP addresses and network names in the cluster are communicating with each other and the rest of the network.

The Cluster Service is running.

All resources and recovery groups are online.

On a clustered system, both members of the cluster must belong to a common domain. To check that a domain is set up properly for the cluster, start each node and cli- ent of the cluster. Verify that each system can log on to the domain:

1.Click the Start button, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.

2.Double-click Network and select the Identification tab. The domain name appears in the domain field.

If the PDC does not reside in the cluster, be sure that the PDC is running before start- ing the systems on the cluster.

2.Click the Drivers tab, and check that the QLogic QLA2100 driver shows a status of Started.

3.Open Windows NT Explorer, and view the winnt\system32\drivers directory.

NOTE: You must enable Show All Files in Windows Explorer to view the hidden

.sys files.

4.Right-click the ql2100.sys file, click Properties, and click the Version tab. Verify that the file version is 1.19 or later.
