SECTION 5—ARMS

Replacing

1.Push down on front of armrest to ensure it is fully seated in front socket.

2.Press in armrest release button located on armrest front tube.

3.Remove hex screw, spacer and locknut securing the existing armrest and insert to the wheelchair frame.

4.Remove the existing armrest from frame.

5.Inspect rear tube of new armrest to ensure insert is properly installed with mounting holes aligned.

6.If not properly aligned, rotate the insert using a flat screwdriver to align the mounting holes.

7.Insert the hex screw through the armrest mounting bracket, spacer and armrest rear tube with insert.

NOTE: Ensure the spacer sits flush against the armrest.

8.Install nut onto hex head screw. Torque to 20-30 in./lbs.

9.Rotate armrest down and into the arm socket.

10.Ensure armrest is securely locked into arm socket and armrest release button locks into place before using.

Removing/Installing Armrests

WARNING

Make sure the armrest release lever is in the locked position before using the wheelchair.

HEAVY DUTY WHEELCHAIR: ONLY use heavy duty, fixed height armrests on heavy duty wheelchairs - otherwise injury or damage may occur.

Heavy duty, fixed height armrests are identified by a circular mark on the rear arm post above or below the armrest release handle.
