4 Getting the Most Out of Your Thomson Gateway

The Shared folder is now accessible using FTP. If you are connected to the Internet, the link to the FTP server is displayed under FTP Server:

On the Thomson Gateway network, you can also FTP to the local address (192.168.1.253).

Additional configuration

As you may know the IP address of your Internet connection changes frequently. This implies that the link to the FTP server will also change every time the public IP changes. With Dynamic DNS, you can assign a host name to the IP address (for example mygateway.dyndns.org). For more information, see “4.5 Dynamic DNS” on page 55.
