Introduction

Introduction

The purpose of the Deployment Tool is to allow the administrator to re- motely configure optiPoint IP phones en-mass.

The primary occasion when this will be done is when a set of new devices is deployed for the first time. However, the tool may be used at any other time as a means of configuring a group of phones with a consistent set of data.

In general the Deployment Tool works on the principal that the same con- figuration is delivered to each device, with the exception of the terminal number (E.164 address). Every addressed device is assigned a separate terminal number.
