CHAPTER 3: Installation

5.To connect a fax machine, plug the RJ-11 end of a telephone line cord into the FAX/MODEM port on the Line Share 120H.

Set your fax to answer on 1 ring.

6.To connect a telephone device such as a computer modem, in lieu of a fax machine, plug the RJ-11 end of a telephone line cord into the FAX/MODEM port on the Line Share 120H.

Set the modem to answer on 1 ring.

NOTE

The Line Share 120H has an automatic TAD Transfer feature (see Section

4.4for more information on the TAD port). To disable this feature, connect your answering machine to the PHONE port of the Line Share 120H and connect your phone to the answering machine.

Connect this line cord to the port labeled “Telephone Line” on the answering machine.
