Signal light and display

The signal light and display show what is happening on the telephone line in the following ways:

Signal light steadily on: dial tone.

Signal light flashing slowly or RINGING on display: telephone ringing.

Signal light flashing quickly or BUSY on display: telephone busy.

Signal light flickering: person picking up telephone or speaking.

Dialing tips

You may need to type a 9 or other number to reach an outside line if you are using the Miniprint 425 in an office.

Use a comma to put in a two-second pause.

For long distance, include a 1 and the area code.

Use a ! for a hook flash.A hook flash is used in a voice mail system or to transfer a call.

You cannot use * and # with pulse dialing.

Using a telephone to dial

If you have a telephone connected with your Miniprint 425, you can dial the number on the telephone. Follow these steps to use a telephone to dial a number:

1.Pick up the handset and dial the number on the telephone.

2.Turn on the Miniprint 425.

3. Press any key to go on-line.

4.Hang up the telephone handset.

5.Wait for a response.
