Save?” is displayed, then select “Yes” or “No”.

8 Select “Send”.

(If “Yes” is selected, “Saved Message” is displayed.)

Before you send a message, you can choose to send the message to a specific base unit telephone (if the receiver has more than one base unit telephone connected to the same line) and also to send a private message to a specific person. You can also request a receipt that your message has been sent. For details, see page 51.

Sending Message” is displayed after step 8. The display returns to the standby mode, then “Transferring Message” is displayed.

If the base unit does not have sufficient memory to send a message, the display will show “SMS lists are memory full. Delete messages.”. The unit will then return to the function menu.

Once you have created an SMS message, the unit will display “sUse Last Text?” each time you select “Create”. If you want to use the text of the last message sent once again, move the JOYSTICK up to recall the last message.

If you try to send a message using a phone number (Destination) over 20 digits long from one of the Phonebook, Caller ID or Redial lists, “Invalid Number” is displayed and the display returns to “<Enter Phone No>”.

The maximum message length is 640 characters. Please consult your SMS service provider for further details.

69 messages can be memorized when you enter 80 characters/1 message. The maximum number of memorized messages depends on the length of each message.

If your phone is connected to a PBX (Private Branch eXchange: private branch exchange), see page 64 to enter the destination number.

After step 7, you can send a message to a Terminal number and specific person or request a receipt that your message has been sent, see next page.
