To automatically record CDs—CD Auto Recording

You can automatically make a recording when playing back a CD entirely (from the first track to the last) in Normal play. (You need to start playback by pressing CD 3/8.) The recording will be stored in a library named “Library CD.”

“AAC 128 kbps” is automatically selected as the recording format.

CD Auto Recording will not work for Program play, Random play, and Repeat play.

CD Auto Recording will be canceled when Recording Timer starts operating.

On the unit ONLY:

1 Press AUTO MODE repeatedly until “CD AUTO

REC” appears in the main display.

Ex. When the function is currently turned “OFF”

(initial setting)

Each time you press the button, Auto Modes change as follows:

SMART COMP. CD AUTO REC

Canceled TU AUTO REC

2 Press SELECT ¢ or SELECT 4 to select “ON?”

3 Press SET to finish the setting.

The CD and AUTO indicators light up on the display.

To deactivate the function, repeat steps 1 to 3, and select “OFF?” in step 2.

The CD and AUTO indicators go off.

If you turn on the function while playing a CD

Recording will not begin. The function will work next time you start playing a CD.

How CD Auto Recording actually works?

Recording automatically starts when you start CD play in Normal play by pressing CD 3/8.

The HDD lamp lights in red, and the CD and AUTO indicators start flashing on the display.

Each time you press DISP/CHARA on the remote control,

the information in the main display changes as follows:

If you play a digitally duplicated CD-R or CD-RW

CD Auto Recording will not start. To record a disc of this type, use the ordinary recording methods described on pages 43 and 44.

If the recording is not done correctly or a track is skipped while it is being played

Use analog recording (see page 47).
