To change the information shown in the main display while recording

Each time you press DISP/CHARA on the remote control,

the information in the main display changes as follows:

If “TU AUTO REC OFF PLEASE!” appears in the main display

You have tried to select recording modes or start recording while Tuner Auto Recording is performed. These operations cannot be accepted during Tuner Auto Recording.

If you want to record the current broadcast program for more than 30 minutes

With this function, you can record only the most recent 30 minutes of the program. To record the entire program, first deactivate the Tuner Auto Recording, then perform the recording procedure explained on page 45.

Recording CDs

This unit is equipped with the following recording modes to record CDs.

AAC128kbps : To record in AAC format at the bit rate of 128 kbps (normal speed).

AAC 96kbps : To record in AAC format at the bit rate of 96 kbps (normal speed).

PCM x1 REC : To record in Linear PCM format (normal speed).

PCM x2 REC : To record in Linear PCM format at double normal speed. (No playback sound will be heard while recording.)

PCM x4 REC*: To record in Linear PCM format at four times normal speed. (No playback sound will be heard while recording.)

*You cannot select “PCM x4 REC” to record Program play and Random play.

1 Prepare a CD.

Press CD 3/8, then press 7 after loading a CD.

You can make a program (see page 25) or select Random play mode (see page 26) if you want. In this case, do not start playing CD manually.

2 Press REC MODE on the unit to select the recording mode.

Each time you press the button, the recording modes change as follows:

The indicator corresponding to the selected recording mode lights up on the display.

3 Press REC START to start recording.

The REC indicator starts flashing on the display, and CD play and recording start at the same time.

• Repeat play is temporarily canceled if in use.
