To sleep with Sleep Timer and wake up with Daily Timer

The unit turns off when the shut-off time comes (set by the Sleep Timer), and turns on when the timer on-time (set by the Daily Timer) comes.

1Set Daily Timer as explained on page 66.

2Start playing back any source you want to listen to before sleep.

3Set Sleep Timer.

Using Auto Power Off

Auto Power Off automatically turns off the unit if no sound comes in for more than 3 minutes except when FM or AM is selected as the source.

If some operation is done during this 3-minute period, Auto Power Off is canceled temporarily even though no sound comes in.

On the remote control ONLY:

To activate Auto Power Off, press A.P.off.

The A.P.off indicator lights up on the display and “A.P.off SET” appears in the main display.

•When no sound comes in, the A.P.off indicator starts flashing on the display. About 20 seconds before the unit turns itself off, it starts counting down the time.

To deactivate Auto Power Off, press A.P.off.

The A.P.off indicator goes off from the display and “A.P.off CANCEL” appears in the main display.

When Recording Timer or Daily Timer starts working

Auto Power Off will not turn off the unit.

Timer Priority

Since each timer can be set separately, you may wonder what happens if the setting for these timers overlaps. Here are the priorities for each timer.

•If Recording Timer (1, 2, or 3) and the other two timers—Daily Timer and Sleep Timer overlap, Recording Timer has priority over the others.

If Recording Timer is set to come on while Daily Timer is operating, Daily Timer is canceled.

If Recording Timer is set to come on while Sleep Timer is operating, Sleep Timer will not turn off the unit even if the shut-off time comes.

•If two Recording Timers overlap, a timer with an earlier on-time has priority over the other.

A timer with a later on-time will be canceled on that particular day. (For example, if the timer with an earlier on-time is set to work only on Monday but the other timer with a later on-time is set to work every day, the other timer will not work on Monday.)

If the timer off-time of one timer (say, Timer A) and the timer on- time of another (Timer B) are set so close (one minute or less apart), Timer B will be canceled temporarily even though they are not overlapped.

Sleep Timer and Auto Power Off can be used at the same time.
