DRIVE BELT

,_ WARNING: To prevent accidental starting that could cause possible serious personal injury,

.turn off the saw, lock the knob in the off position, and unplug the saw before working on the band,

Due to wear or breakage, the drive belt may need to be replaced. The drive belt is located on the motor pulley and on the lower right wheel of the band saw.

Loosen the three motor nuts and rotate the motor

to the right or clockwise to reduce tension on the old drive belt.

Remove the worn drive belt by sliding it off the wheel and then off the motor pulley.

Matching grooves, place new drive belt on the motor pulley and then on the wheel.

Rotate the motor to the left or counterclockwise from the front of the saw to apply tension to the drive belt. Using a thumb and finger to squeeze the belt, it should give about 114 in. Tighten the three motor nuts.

Note: A drive belt that is too tight may cause in- creased noise or overload the motor.
