CHECKING AND ADJUSTING BELT TENSION

DRIVE BELT TENSION: Proper drive belt tension is obtained when there is zero deflection, using light finger pressure, on drive belts (A) Fig. 16, midway between pul- leys. If an adjustment is necessary, push down on lever

(B)Fig. 16, to disenguage feed roller. Loosen jam nut (C) Fig. 17, located on top of motor (D) and turn adjustment stud (E) right or left as needed until proper drive belt ten- sion is obtained. Tighten jam nut (C) after adjustment is made.

FEED ROLL BELT TENSION: Proper tension on feed roll belt (F) Fig. 16, is obtained when there is approxi- mately 1" deflection, using light finger pressure on feed roll belt (F), midway between pulleys.

If an adjustment is necessary, change position of rod (B) Fig. 18, in stud (G) by tightening and loosening two nuts

(H)until correct belt tension is obtained. Both nuts (H) should be tight against stud (G) as shown in Fig. 18, after adjustment is made.
