4.Place gage block (A) Fig. 44, under outfeed roller (D). The bottom of roller (D) should just touch gage block (A).

5.If an adjustment is necessary, loosen locknut (E) Fig. 45, and turn adjustment screw (F) until the outfeed roller just touches the top of gage block (A) Fig. 44.

6.Repeat the adjustment on the opposite end of the outfeed roller in the same manner.

7.Tighten locknuts (E) Fig. 45 after adjustments are com- pleted.

ADJUSTING INFEED ROLLER

The infeed roller feeds the stock into the planer while the stock is being surfaced. The infeed roller must be positioned uniformly across the planer and .040" below the cutting circle to feed the stock without slipping. To check the setting of the infeed roller, proceed as follows:

1. DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER SOURCE.

2.Make certain the knives are adjusted properly as explained in section “CHECKING, ADJUSTING AND

REPLACING KNIVES.”

3.Place gage block (A) Fig. 46, on the table, directly under the cutterhead (B). Using a .040" feeler gage (C) placed on top of the gage block (A), raise the table until the cutterhead knife just touches feeler gage (A) when the knife is at its lowest point. NOTE: Do not move the table any further until the adjustment is complete.

4.Place gage block (A) Fig. 47, under infeed roller (D). The bottom of roller (D) should just touch gage block (A).

5.If an adjustment is necessary, loosen locknut (E) Fig. 48, and turn adjustment screw (F) until the infeed roller just touches the top of gage block (A).

6.Repeat the adjustment on the opposite end of the infeed roller in the same manner.

7.Tighten locknuts (E) Fig. 48, after adjustments are completed.

Delta 22-450 and Delta 22-451 are notable models within Delta's commitment to high-performance, precision woodworking tools. Designed for both amateur and professional woodworkers, these tools embody an ideal blend of innovation, usability, and durability.

One of the primary features of the Delta 22-450 is its powerful motor, which delivers reliable performance even under heavy workloads. This model is equipped with a 1.5 HP motor that ensures consistent power, allowing users to tackle various materials with ease. The motor is designed to operate quietly while minimizing vibrations, which enhances user comfort and precision during operation.

In contrast, the Delta 22-451 takes this a step further, boasting a slightly more robust 1.75 HP motor. This feature allows for increased cutting capacity and the ability to work with thicker and denser materials without bogging down. Both models come with a high-quality build, featuring cast-iron bases that provide stability and reduce vibration, further contributing to accuracy in cuts.

Another standout characteristic of the Delta 22-450 and 22-451 is their innovative fence system. Both models utilize a patented fence design that is easy to adjust and lock securely in place, providing users with confidence in their cutting precision. This technology makes repetitive cuts simple and accurate, which is invaluable when working on larger projects.

Additionally, safety is a key focus in the design of these tools. Delta has incorporated various safety features, such as blade guards and anti-kickback mechanisms, to protect users during operation. This attention to safety is crucial, especially for those who may be newer to woodworking or those operating in busy environments.

Furthermore, these models also feature a dust collection system that maintains a clean workspace. The integrated ports allow for connection to dust extraction systems, ensuring that the work environment remains clear of debris, which not only keeps the workspace safer but also improves visibility for more accurate work.

In summary, the Delta 22-450 and 22-451 are exceptional tools designed for both professional woodworkers and dedicated hobbyists. With powerful motors, advanced fence systems, robust safety features, and effective dust collection, these models are engineered to enhance the woodworking experience and deliver superior results.
