Replacing carbon brushes

0 Both carbon brushes should be replaced after about 150 hours of use. When the resin insulating tip inside the carbon brush is exposed to contact the com- mutator, it will automatically shut off the motor. If carbon brushes wear out too quickly, ask Makita Authorized or Factory Service Centers to determine the cause before replacing them. Use only Makita carbon brushes.

*Use the screwdriver to remove the brush holder cap as shown in the figure.

Take out the worn brush, insert the new one and secure the brush holder cap.
