8 Keeping your Slate safe

Your Windows files must be backed up on a regular basis, and you must guard against viruses and privacy violations. The following sections address the importance of protecting your Slate as you use your Slate and the Windows operating system.

Securing your Slate and information

Security is essential for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your information. Standard security solutions provided by the Windows® operating system, HP applications, the non– Windows Setup Utility (BIOS), and other third-party software can help protect your Slate from a variety of risks, such as viruses, worms, and other types of malicious code.
