Chapter 2: mx Commands

mx disk – disk commands

Use the following commands to import SAN disks into a matrix, to remove them from a matrix, or to display status information.

Import a disk into the matrix:

mx disk import <uuid> ...

To determine the uuid for a disk, run the mx disk status command, as described below.

This command does not display an error message if the import fails. To verify that the disk was imported, use the mx disk status --importedcommand.

Display information about disks:

mx disk status [--imported]

With no arguments, this command displays the UUID, the size, and a vendor string for each unimported disk in the SAN. To see this information for imported disks, include the --importedargument.

In the following example, 20:00:00:04:cf:20:de:3b::0 is the UUID.

#mx disk status

DISK 20:00:00:04:cf:20:de:3b::0 10.12.1.241:13 35843685KB SEAGATE ST336605FC

Remove a disk from the matrix:

mx disk deport <uuid> ...

Use the disk status --importedcommand, as described above, to determine the uuid for the disk.

Dump disk configuration to stdout:

mx disk dump
