Using the Manual Shooting Mode

Manual mode lets you specify both F-number (aperture) and shutter speed. Use Manual mode when you want complete control over aperture and shutter speed.

Changes you make in Manual shooting mode are reflected in Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority modes. For example, if you change the F-number to f/8, it will be f/8 in Aperture Priority mode. Similarly, changes you make in Aperture Priority and Shutter Priority modes are reflected in Manual shooting mode.

1. Press	, use the	buttons
to highlight	, then press		.

2.Press the buttons to switch between F-number and shutter speed.

3.Use the buttons to adjust the value of the selected option. The

arrow on the exposure meter indicates the amount of over- or under- exposure. If the image will be over- or under- exposed more than three stops, the F-number, shutter speed, and exposure meter arrow turn red. Adjust either the F-number or shutter speed until these items turn white.

4.When you are done, you can take a picture using these settings (see page 33).

NOTE: If you are using Manual Focus (see page 43), press

MF to display the magnified screen. You can then use

the buttons to adjust focus. When the magnified

screen times out, you can use the buttons to switch between F-number and shutter speed.

The Manual mode settings remain in effect until they are changed again, even when you turn the camera off.
