Appendix A: Batteries and accessories

Managing batteries

When the batteries are removed from the camera, the date and time settings are preserved for approximately ten minutes. If the camera is without batteries for longer than ten minutes, the clock is set to the last time and date at which it stopped. You might be prompted to update the date and time.

NOTE If you do not intend to use the camera for extended periods of time (more than a month), we strongly recommend that you remove the batteries from the camera.

The following battery levels are visible on the image display.

The camera uses four AA batteries. Acceptable batteries include alkaline, photo-lithium, and NiMH. For the best results with your camera, use photo-lithium or NiMH batteries.
